Good Morning Blank Page!
In the wee quiet hour of 4 am
slowly and quietly I make the way down the hallway
through the second door on the left.
There sits my drawing board waiting with vacant bench.
I turn on the lights.
As my sleepy eyes adjust to the sound of shattering darkness
I grab a pencil and wonder where to begin today.
I began on September 1
the quest of drawing for 30 days
to create the characters for Fe&Me
Today, playing catch up all illustrations, so far, for this challenge will be posted.
There are two for Sept. 1.
The Mr. Magnanimus above and below.
The top one is too simple, but may be the way Fe drew him to begin with. We’ll see.
The second one feels too much like Babar.
Maybe a young Mr. Magnanimus . . . but for the story not really where we are going. September 2.
Sept. 3 Magical Mr. Magnanimus.
Sort of where I want him to go . . . because as his name says,
the idea is that he represents a spirit of loving and giving.
September 4, 2016
I also want him older and wiser.
But, not a Garden Gnomish Wizard!
while watching Dr. Who have a Sherlock moment.
This is pretty close. Some stories will have Mr. Magnanimus in costume.
By the way, magnanimous is incorrectly spelled for his name on purpose.
Fun with camera angles.
Today’s illustration will be posted later today or tomorrow.
I’ll leave you with this.
One of the first sketches done before the challenge.
Another done just while playing and thinking about
These two come closest, for now, to where Fe&Me will begin.
Through the rest of the month they will develop together
as the story is developing.
They have been in my head and in my heart for a very long time.
Their voices have been getting louder and louder so
I guess it is time to let them be heard.
Not everything will be shared as they move forward.
Eventually, however, all will be shared as the stories come to life.
I would really love to hear from whoever is out there.
You are invited to play along.
Tell me what you think. How do they make you feel?
This is my want to do for today.
Off, now, to proceed with the have to dos.
Have a Doodle Day!
